The Xiaomi XRing 01 is a powerful 3nm chipset with next-gen gaming & AI features, debuting in the Xiaomi 15S Pro & Pad 7 Ultra for flagship performance.

Xiaomi has finally released the XRing 01, its new custom smartphone processor, as a daring foray into the realm of high-end mobile computing. Based on TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm architecture, this chip will challenge the industry leaders, Qualcomm and MediaTek—in terms of offering better power efficiency and processing performance.

Innovative Specifications of the Xiaomi XRing 01

The XRing 01 is loaded with the latest features:

Deca-Core CPU: Boasting 2x Cortex-X925 cores at 3.9 GHz, 6x Cortex-A725 performance cores, and 2x Cortex-A520 efficiency-oriented cores.

Immortalis-G925 MC16 GPU: A 16-core GPU monster for enhanced gaming and AI-based gaming.

Manufacturing Process: Powered through TSMC’s second-gen 3nm manufacturing, enhancing battery life and overall efficiency.

First Devices: Planned to launch in the Xiaomi 15S Pro flagship phone and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet.

Performance Gains: Xiaomi asserts that the XRing 01 performs better than Google Tensor chips and is as good as Snapdragon 8 Elite in multi-core benchmarks.

Why Is Xiaomi Betting Big on Custom Chips?

Xiaomi has spent more than $1.87 billion to create its own processors, with an intent to minimize dependence on Qualcomm and MediaTek and streamline software-hardware integration for its products. The move towards in-house chipsets may yield

  • Improved performance optimization for MIUI & HyperOS
  • Improved battery life and thermal management
  • More control over AI processing and gaming performance

What’s Next for Xiaomi’s XRing 01?

With Apple, Samsung, and Google already developing custom silicon, Xiaomi is now entering the competitive field of bespoke processors. If the XRing 01 delivers on its promises, it could be a major turning point for Xiaomi’s smartphone lineup, boosting performance, longevity, and gaming capabilities.
