Huawei has finally unveiled the Mate 80 Pro Max, which is the most premium version of its Mate 80 series. Officially announced in late November 2025, the device aims to go directly against ultra-flagship smartphones by marrying cutting-edge display technologies, professional-grade imaging, and robust hardware.
The Mate 80 Pro Max features a large form factor with a robust build and is pitched as Huawei’s ultimate non-foldable flagship, targeting buyers who seek performance and reliability all in one device.
Display & Durability: Redefined
The Mate 80 Pro Max features a massive 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED LTPO display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an impressive 8,000 nit peak brightness, making it one of the brightest panels in the industry. Huawei has equipped the device with second-generation Kunlun glass and an all-metal chassis, offering 20 times better drop resistance and double the scratch resistance compared to its predecessor. With IP68/IP69 certification, the phone is built to withstand dust and water exposure, ensuring reliability in demanding environments.
Performance and Battery Life
At its core, the Mate 80 Pro Max is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Running on HarmonyOS 6.0, the device introduces new AI-driven features and smoother multitasking.
