As Apple prepares to commemorate the iPhone’s 20th anniversary in 2027, rumors for the launch of the next iPhone 20 indicate a revolutionary jump in technology and design. As Apple supposedly skips the iPhone 19 version, the iPhone 20 will also be a milestone, not merely in name but in innovation as well. Here’s all that we know so far about what might be Apple’s most ambitious iPhone ever.

A Radical Redesign iPhone 20 features

Perhaps the most discussed of these is the iPhone 20’s reported all-glass design. Early leaks suggest Apple is considering a continuous, edge-to-edge screen that curves subtly around the sides, giving the illusion of one unbroken glass slab. The design would do away with the classic metal frame, providing a modern look that ties in with Apple’s minimalist design aesthetics.

Even more striking, perhaps, is the removal of all physical buttons, as reported. Instead, the iPhone 20 will supposedly boast solid-state haptic buttons—pressure-sensitive pads that mimic the sensation of a button press through advanced haptic feedback. These include the power button, the volume controls, and even a separate camera shutter button, all flush-integrated into the surface of the device.

Camera Innovation

Apple is also said to debut a LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) sensor in the camera system of the iPhone 20. The cutting-edge sensor tech enables more dynamic range as well as enhanced light sensitivity, particularly in low-lighting conditions. With more light per pixel captured, the LOFIC sensor may drastically make photos sharper, noise-free, and richer in color accuracy—turning the iPhone 20 into a mobile photography powerhouse.

Why Apple Can Possibly Pass On iPhone 19

In a similarly bold action as when it skipped from iPhone 8 to iPhone X, Apple is said to be skipping the iPhone 19 and going directly to the iPhone 20. This isn’t merely a publicity stunt—it’s a symbolic action to match the product with the 20th-year anniversary of the first iPhone, released in 2007. The iPhone 20 branding strengthens the notion of a generation leap, both in marketing and technological development.

iPhone Foldable and New Lineup Models

Apple’s leaked foldable prototypes could inspire the inclusion of a second-generation foldable iPhone in the iPhone 20 lineup. A new phone named the iPhone Air might also provide a lighter and more budget-friendly option for the Pro models, appealing to customers who value portability at the expense of performance.

iPhone’s New Chapter

Though these features are still speculative until Apple’s formal confirmation, the predictability of leaks from credible sources indicates that the iPhone 20 will be a milestone release. From its buttonless, glass-only design to advanced camera technology, Apple seems set to reimagine what a smartphone can be—again.

As we near 2027, the hype is building. If these rumors are true, the iPhone 20 won’t be just an incremental update—it will be a two-decade anniversary, bathed in the most futuristic iPhone aesthetic yet.
