MediaTek has officially lifted the curtain on its most powerful mobile chipset to date, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, and it’s already turning heads across the tech world. Announced on September 22, 2025, this flagship SoC is built to redefine what premium Android smartphones can do, especially in the realms of AI, gaming, and energy efficiency.

At the heart of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 lies a cutting-edge “All Big Core” CPU architecture, featuring one ultra core clocked at a blistering 4.21 GHz, three premium cores, and four performance cores. Manufactured using TSMC’s 3 nm process, the chip packs an astonishing 30 billion transistors, delivering a 32% boost in single-core performance and 17% in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9400. Even more impressive? It achieves this while consuming 55% less power at peak performance.

Generative AI Engine 2.0 and NPU 990

But the real star of the show is MediaTek’s 9th-gen NPU 990, which introduces Generative AI Engine 2.0. This powerhouse supports ultra-low-precision BitNet-style processing, enabling 4K image generation, 128K token long-text processing, and 100% faster output for 3B parameter LLMs. In simpler terms, it’s built for the next wave of AI-driven mobile experiences, from smarter assistants to real-time content creation.

Gaming Performance with Arm G1-Ultra GPU

Gamers will be thrilled with the Arm G1-Ultra GPU, which doubles down on ray tracing capabilities and supports 120 FPS ray-traced gaming. With up to 33% higher peak performance and 42% better power efficiency, it’s optimized for titles built on Unreal Engine 5.6, including advanced features like MegaLights and Nanite rendering.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 also sets a new benchmark in storage with the world’s first 4-lane UFS 4.1 interface, doubling read/write speeds and slashing AI model loading times by 40%. On the camera front, it supports up to 200MP image capture, while connectivity gets a boost with 5G speeds reaching 7.4Gbps and AI-enhanced Bluetooth call quality.

First Devices with MediaTek Dimensity 9500

The first wave of smartphones featuring the Dimensity 9500 includes the OPPO Find X9 series and Vivo X300/X300 Pro, expected to launch in October 2025. These devices will showcase the full potential of MediaTek’s latest innovation, positioning it as a formidable rival to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Apple’s A19 Pro.

In a market where performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities are king, the Dimensity 9500 doesn’t just compete—it leads. Whether you’re a gamer, content creator, or tech enthusiast, this chipset promises a future where your smartphone is smarter, faster, and more capable than ever.
